gapless playlists
Lately I been looking for a plug-in that avoids gaps between songs.. Ussually the end of each song has 2 or more sec. of silence. How can automatically skips to the next song avoiding this no noise gap??

Re: gapless playlists
The best idea is to use a CD ripper program that automatically removes the trailing silence. For example, AudioCatalyst 2.1 can do this. But you can also increase the overlap settings in Raduga (dialog Advanced Options) to adjust for long silence.

Re: gapless playlists
Isn't it possible to make a new feature in Raduga that will notice when an MP3 is below a given volume? When the volume drops below 0dB it automaticly fades to the next song.

Re: gapless playlists
I don't think that is very useful, beneath 0 db...??? All my songs are edited with the peak setting on -1db(A) How many songs haven't got pieces under the -10db or less? I think the best way is to edit every song and cut the silence or use the ~ (tilde) to set the point of fadeout. (see manual on this site). Ron

Re: gapless playlists
That's a lot of work if you have thousends of mp3 files. The DirectX limiter can pickup differences in volume above or below 0dB. But before the plugin does it's work Raduga could check the following : check the last 15 seconds of the following mp3 and calculate where it should fade to the next. This way you always have the best fades.

Re: gapless playlists
Indeed, it's a lot of work, i started when i got the first song (about a year ago) because a song started very often with a second of silence. If Raduga has to look 15 seconds forward (like you said) it would takes a lot of your memory (because it has play two songs at a time (one in silence)), and i think thats not good. But you can edit the tilde (~) when you loaded the songs in the playlist to set the fading time like (Beatles - Help~2.6). My English is not very good, so i hope you'll understand what i mean. Ron

Re: gapless playlists
Check how, SqrSoft Advanced Crossfading Output http://www.winamp.com/plugins/detail.jhtml?componentId=32368 and RockSteady 2.1 http://www.winamp.com/plugins/detail.jhtml?componentId=1099 work, if wolfgang could use this way of outputtriggering it would be great and you'll loose the strange filerenaming stuff. Arthur p.s. I know there is a tool called mp3trim and this one does hat its name says.

Re: gapless playlists
What does the SqrSoft plug do? Is it different from just fade at a given time? By the way, it doesn't take more memory or cpu time because if Raduga can crossfade 2 files then it should be no problem to play 15 seconds ahead when one is playing!!! I don't like renaming all my mp3 files with a ~ and using mp3trim isn't a solution for all you songs, because one songs takes 15 seconds and another 10 sec. to fade away. So i still think that the best way to crossfade your mp3s, is to "now" when the upcoming file reduces in volume.

Re: gapless playlists
Hi, It does that what you want, just play with it for a moment and you'll see how great it works. At a certain moment, e.g. 10 secs (or whatever you set it to) before the mp3 ends, it will start monitoring this mp3, then when the level drops to e.g. -6 db it will start the next track, you can even set the "curves" of fading in and out. you can configure almost everything and save each setting as presets. I use this pluging and winamp all the time when playing via the stereo (even with short jingles in between tracks). arthur

Re: gapless playlists
Yes, Winamp's SqrSoft (volume-based fading) and RockSteady (normalized output) plug-in provide the functionality which would be very usefull for Radio Automation with Raduga!
BTW: does anybody know a DirectX Plug-in which normalizes the output like RockSteady. There are many compressors/expanders/limiters, but I could not find this simple functionality...

Re: gapless playlists
I use Realizer Pro with Raduga, it's got a bass maximizer, mid and high range EQ,Enhancer, stereo spread, reverb and a compressor all in one DirectX plug-in. Works very good!!

Re: gapless playlists
SqrSoft Cross fader is a killer plug-in. You really don't have trim any files, as it seems to take care of long silent gaps at the end of MP3 files. Absolute best I have ever seen. However, last time I checked, it only works in Winamp. It will NOT work with Raduga. Am I correct? Correct me if I am wrong. I would be overjoyed to have this plug-in work in Raduga.
